Windows and MacOS don't even have native apps with this kind of control, those OS's just pop up randomly with "Please restart to apply updates". You have to get CCleaner, SDI or IoBit to do that on other OS's.
Linux is one of the few OS's that has the build-in option to update all your software without buying a license or whatever. People are straight up saying the opposite version of the truth like they have to guard a magical door or some shit.
I guess some people just find less control and agency better?

Parts of the OSRS community were always like that, but I knew that a while ago a lot of WoW players showed up. But! Now I hear a lot of them are fucking off for some reason, so maybe I'll feel like playing OSRS again. Having the Gary/????/May rival-thing was getting really boring. I know B&W changed it up, but I only half played one of those and 2 and was kinda meh on them.

But X&Y, I like it a lot so far. I feel it finally understands that some people have been doing the same journey for like 20 years now and maybe speeding up the start is a good idea. Exp share, roller skates and all that is so tasty.

I've been playing Where Winds Meet! I like the style, the combat and I'm interested enough in the story to keep at it for a bit. This is Ming Yue Yi!

My biggest gripe with Where Winds Meet is the playerbase honestly.
I'm doing trials and bosses in multiplayer and no-one can read the giant text on the screen, they die because they have no idea what those gaint red AoE's are while the game screams "AVOID THIS"

Then they die because blocks or parries are unheard of, waste all your revives in the first minute and instantly quit the fight 1 minute in. There are also fights where you fight 2 bosses in a row, you have to explicitly queue up for those. But then people join, fumble through the first boss then instantly leave while the screen says in giant letters "NEXT BOSS FIGHT STARTS IN 1 MINUTE"

Like, the bosses do moves that you see in your first hour of something like WoW or FF14. 2 of the bosses are just Ifrit from FF14! The easiest thing in that whole game next to clicking "Login".

Like, I don't wanna be like "you're not good enough to go online and be part of a team"

but I dunno, maybe stay in single player if this is how you do things. Just summon NPC's instead of grouping up. I've lost so much time already to people like that.

I loathe some of the mini games and sometimes you get stuck in a hill or a lake, but I like some of the combat and the light social stuff.

A site that's been going around and just building a button wall of fun sites accidentally linked to some one with TERFy stuff in their blogs and such.
My first assumption was that the first site just missed it, didn't see the text over the design, ya know? The site contacted me and we hosted eachothers buttons so i figured he's alright with trans people, considering I have those cute blinkie flags and one of the tag for my site is just straight up "trans".

But then it got a little weird when the first site claimed that people were being decisive and rabble-rousing over the site he linked. I'm going to hope they just didn't know what to really say, rather then saying "Trans people wanna just exist and the other side wants them gone in every aspect, perhaps we can meet in the middle?"

People responded with "no, even half believing in transphobia is too much for people to feel safe around you. Don't platform some one like that" and they asked to have their button removed from his site.

And for as far as I can tell, he deleted all the comments and left that link there. Rolling on like nothing happened. He claimed he didn't want to be the bad guy just because the person they featured was vomiting hatred. I mean, could he not have said something like "I don't condone transphobia and I looked around too little before promoting this site. I'll try and be better."

Granted, I guess you can only say that if you actually want no part of targeted hatemongering. Which, maybe they ain't about. Maybe they do just wanna run both sides and lean in the middle. But in that case I would also have just dropped contact anyway, too.

Or maybe, just very maybe they're completely lost and overwhelmed by this. I understand. But they did mention they would write something to address it and all that happened was all traces of it being deleted.

Listen, I'm simple, I don't cede ground to people who want me gone. I will not stretch my hand across the aisle to fist bump neo nazi's and 'meet in the middle' . The middle ground between "I just want to live" and "All these people need to be exterminated" is still too many dead brothers, sisters and siblings to me.

I don't believe in sacrificing half my community to "be safe".

Remember that 90% of the time it's just a trick to get you to spill too much. If I were to post pics of my works out there I get the cops at my door. I'm not gonna dox myself by posting the address and pictures of the community centers I go to.

I know I talk about these every so often, but man, I just hate it so much. It's all so obvious. People will ask them if the image is AI and they'll say "oh no, it was made by an artists" and you ask them "who? do they have any socials or an art page?"

And either they say the artist that supposedly has been doing at least 1 piece of art every 3 days for the past 5 months doesn't have any socials, doesn't have a name and has never even been online, or you get linked to an ai slop instagram that was made quickly the last time some one asked about it.

They also just can't name album or songs in a convincing way. You'll see ""artists"" who will name every album like "A shade of (insert colour here)" and every song will be "A song to do ___ to".

Looking around for how other people are feeling about this just lands me at a subreddit where everyone is like "Now I can make music! this is great! Now I can show all those elitists that told me to just practice that I'm just as good as them, by using their stolen work!"

Went to another edition of Filthy Folk Fest! It was held in a medium sized room in a large music venue. In between the bands you could go downstairs to a larger bar and kitchen. They also set up a corner with some instruments to allow some jamming. They had a really solid drummer at one point and played a whole bunch of fun stuff like Allstar by Smashmouth.

Might be time to start a dual-boot with Linux. I'm either gonna learn a lot today or ruin my old favorite jeans & a shirt I don't care about.
I've done little repairs on my clothing for ages now, but I've never used a sowing machine. I've just been holding on to this mini kit for like 20 years and have done everything by hand with it.

I used to have the worst patches on my jackets because I just had to spend 40 minutes sewing them on myself. An old denim jacket of mine got it the worst. We at one point used power tools to make holes in it becaue I didn't wanna snap my precious 5 needles. Mixed colour threads, not a single straight line, you can imagine how bad everything always looked.



What I want to do with this is just cut out some rectangluar shapes from the shirt and stick those behind the holes at the knees of the pair of jeans. I want it for the look, so that I can wear them in sightly colder weather and so that randoms can't see my pristine shaved legs and call me a slur in public.

I'm so tired of getting injured by this shit.

I saw a cheap enough, fun Lain shirt online and it turned out to be gen ai trash when it came in the mail. At least I can use the rest of the shirt as spare fabric.

Port over the Koro From Ivalice blog and make a FF14 styled page for it. I have made like 2 sort of basic layouts and have a bunch of images and other png's I can use as text fields. I still need a font for button links though. I still need to dig through my 2k something screenshots, resize them all, rename them and hope I don't break my upload limit, because

I still need to complete my Following list and I was thinking of putting 2/3 small 100x100 images to quickly show off the artist's style or medium. Considering I always end up following like 800 people on almost all platforms (a lot of overlap though) this is gonna also suck.

I had the same idea for the Webcomic page. Quick snippets of the comics. Maybe a cheeky mediafire link to an archive if the comic's website died 10 years ago and I have like 1 of the only copies of it.

Media Log? I dunno, Sometimes I watch nothing for 3 months and then I'm on a voicechat daily while someone streams a series. A lot of the stuff is in the past or it's gonna be "Playing FF3 again, like I do every 5 years". or worse "My friends have been watching Love is Blind which means I did, too"

I've been playing with RocketCake, a CSS website designer thats very visual. I've been trying to recreate my site but with responsive elements. Now the windows and boxes stay on the same spot, no matter the resolution or device.

It looks like I can, with a little remix to it. I'm fighting trying to get those Window XP windows as backdrops for boxes though, but I'll get it.

Currently I use an ancient technique called image-building with the even older program Dreamweaver 2004MX. I really just drag images in the fore-and-background, slap an iframe somewhere and drop text on it. I'm a designer at most, not an artist or developer. The furthest I go is heavily editing images or changing shapes & dimensions on windows browser looking boxes by copy+pasting and patching.

I feel at some point the site will be "done enough". Where all I would do is upload blogs, zines (If I ever get a good idea again) and sometimes add or remove links to tools and resources. Maybe I'll branch out if I think of something, like I did Tina of the Stars or Deadweb 1.0 and 2.0.

But the site is also a strange backup for myself. Should all my devices explode or whatever, I want to be able to head to my own pages and find all the plugins and programs that I use. If 1 day I find my tumblr deleted because I was being trans a little too loud or something, I can check my lists and still find everyone again. I want a collection of the old media I enjoyed to reflect on or to reference to when something is on the tip of my tongue.

I had thought about just self hosting, but I find it hard to justify the cost. It's not a big site, not a particularly interesting one and I don't think I have the audience or the self-need to get a .com or .net.

I don't really create all that much, there's little reason for repeat visits after you learn from my Tabletop Tips and browse over the Tools and Links pages once.

I dunno, we'll see.

I still need to find a new job. I sometimes work near little parks & forests and meet the staff that's maintaining it. A job that's half inside, half outside seems nice. I was gonna go to a friends birthday party, but my ankle is still a little too messed up for long travel.
I was gonna grab a ride to a party but the driver got caught up in something at the last minute. I would have to go by train and that means like 3 hours travel time while I could hang for maybe an hour and a half before I have to go. My ankle is still a little fucky and if I miss a train or tram it's gonna be a painful and shitty long walk till I get home. The price for public transit is also pretty steep because it's in another province.

I'm in Q Patrol, pretty much the only LGBTQIA+ accepting guild/supergroup/clan on the server, sorta, but it's a fucking underground community inside of an already niche playerbase. I love them, but we're like a single tiny gay bar in the middle of a giant city.

I also look up others. I did have a giggle when I found an older topic about the ThunderSpy one, the 4chan CoH server. Some one asked the owner if there would be moderation, the owner claims the 4chan server will self-police and it'll be fine. Just mute people they say.

There's this joke I picked up in FF14 like 6 years ago. JP regions play the game well and enjoy light RP, EU regions play well enough but do a little less RP. USA sucks at playing the game and roleplays the worst and loudest.

While I haven't really played the game in 2 years now or whatever, I hate seeing this dumb shit happen. When they finally banned cactbot and all those other programs, sure, that was great.

We had Americans using plugins and programs that played the game for them while they were doing the hardest content in the game. They all just streamed with all their mods on and on display, then got mad that Square Enix didn't give them a shout-out for cheating super fucking hard.

It's the reverse of WoW really, to me at least, somehow. FF14 is made so you don't actually need all these hardcore mods to see the code and attacks before they happen. The devs test everything on vanilla PS5's with controllers in the office and they clear the content.

But some people just NEED programs that spell out whats going to happen and let you automatically do your rotations without a single actual input. The game got more casual friendly as time went on and it's still not enough for these world-first types.

I managed to trip over a low part of a fence and snapped my ankle a bit last week. Nothing torn, but I just need to rest it. In the meantime I've just been rearranging the balcony garden, printing stickers and making backups. I also started playing Path of Exile with friends again!

Currently also trying to stay off Youtube. There's a small protest against YT trying to determine your age by using it's AI / LLM to profile you. The idea is to not even use a frontend for it. No Newpipe or Revanced version of the app or site. No traffic to YT all together.
I've always been a bit of a hoarder so of course I downloaded whole channels of Vapourwave and D&B mixes ages ago. I also just have all the music I've downloaded or ripped since like 2002 and onward.
I also got a sequine little dress which is something I've wanted for ages since I put one on a 2ndlife character like 20 years ago and Felt Something™.

Instead of the companies being held responsible for what they pump online, how they regulate it and how they worked dopamine in their product, we have to collectively give up all our info. For our safety or some shit.

Like, there is a rumor that Google tried to sue the Aussie government for including YT in this. Not to protect their users or anything, but because it cuts into their revenue. Keep that in mind when you see some companies fight the Online Safety Act, they ain't doing it for you or your rights. It's for their own wallet.

I still don't know what to think about Itch.io right now. They did de-index all the "adult" and by extension, trans and gay games/stories. Plenty of people had their game deleted off Itch or some even had their account deleted.

The Itch.io spokesperson behind the Bluesky has stopped answering people on why their games were delisted or removed. They picked out a lot of examples where they de-index games because they didn't have a cover image, but plenty of people who filled those requirements are still waiting on why they've been deleted off the platform.

Annually, Itch.io creators would band together and sell the Queer Games Bundle. This year they did it like 2 months later and right after they de-indexed a lot of people's creations. So people saw this as virtue signaling, waving pride flags around just as they are killing off all their queer creators behind the scenes.

Plenty of people jumped to the defense of this Games Bundle, claiming that the people complaining about this being virtue signaling while their account was deleted were just vultures or hype-riding assholes.

To a degree I understand that Itch has to operate like a company first and a community second. Itch was threatened by payment processors and they feared they would lose their income, and on a second note, that you might lose yours, too. So when they saved their own wallet, they had to quickly repair their community.

I dunno, I kinda get it when people say "we needed this right now". I see people who put their life experiences into games, was then told they were a fucking degenerate by paypal and visa and got their account shadow banned. I understand there are people who need that little bit of hope right now.

But I also really understand the people who got burned by a place that promised them they could share their art and games, away from puritans and bigots.

Right now, the last real message Itch had was "we're looking into better payment processors" and has since just kept to promoting games on their service via the bluesky account. They also claimed they re-indexed all the NSFW stuff that was free or a demo. Claiming the problem is with """"adult material""" being sold and not just being available on the site.

In case it was getting confusing, here's the 2 separate things at play and what they're aiming for;

The Online Safety Act is about making sure no-one can access anything your government deems as "inappropriate" unless you're fully catalogued by name, age, gender and all that. As an example, I can't look up all the war crimes my country committed in WW2 unless my government knows 100% who I am and where to find me.

Payment Processors are trying to make sure you cannot use their services to buy anything deemed "inappropriate" by the companies Visa, Mastercard and Paypal. I cannot go to Itch.io or Steam and buy a visual novel about a gay man meeting another gay man with no graphic images or text in it. I cannot commission an artist who sometimes does NSFW in their own time for a SFW picture.

Oh! Kerry Smith, CEO of the Internet Watch Foundation in the UK is also looking to make VPN's illegal unless you just give them all your info upfront.

At some point I just have to assume that Steam & Valve are okay with people posting the most bigoted shit for steam awards in the news and discussions. I can only assume they want the copy&paste on every post that says shit like

Cuz, if they really felt it didn't belong, they would have done something about it when it started creeping up like a decade+ ago. If Steam gave a shit, the FF14 forum would not have been every slur for a trans woman you could image since Dawntrail came out. The only reason it's not anymore is because people finally stopped giving them awards for it half a year ago. The mine dried up so they move to newer games.

A part of the problem to me is that most people really only know like Steam and the big 3 of Xbox, Sony and Nintendo. A cornerstone of what is 'gaming' is riddled with bigotry and the dumbest motherfuckers saying the loudest shit.
And this is how it just is to the people who don't go out and search for games. This is just how the community at large looks to them.

Steam is filled to the brim with young kids. Open up a random Garry's Mod server and you'll find a 12 year old. Impressionable young kids. And the Steam Community is very easy to reach. All respective forums can be reached from the same page you hit "play game" on.

I dunno, I know Steam Community is the absolute pits and it's where banned 4channers and redditors go to try and "lololol le epic troll upboatplz" for steam awards. I scroll down sometimes and I mutter to myself "You ain't even real. Not even real." But I'll see people fighting for their lives to make sure gay and trans people are never allowed this blessed escapism they scream about for themselves.

In a way I'm so happy that I never buy my favorite games on Steam. I see the good that the service has done, but I could never let myself be chained down to a platform that encourages users to be absolute racists and transphobic cunts like they are on Steam.

It's summer and all I do is sweat and grind a day job.
I used to go out a lot. Day, night, it didn't matter I used to go into a small wooded area near my house and just play with sticks with friends. We used to go to the beach. Sometimes because an old school of mine was in walking distance and they had a mall right by the shore. Sometimes because a few of my metalhead friends lived close to the coast and we'd just make dubious campfires and drink. I used to bike to a neighbouring town almost every saturday to a alternative place that opened at 11 and closed at 4 AM. We've gone into the farmlands and hung with some of the metalheads there. Hang around in greenhouses or watch them fling batteries into a campfire hidden in the middle of a forest.

I still go to little gigs, I do day trips to festivals nowadays instead of sleeping in a hole in the ground tripping my shit for 4 days. I went to the Museum and the Aquarium this year! It just feels like it's always so far between all these little things. A lot of my friends have their careers, husbands, wifes, daughters, sons and everything else. Where they transitioned into a new balance with a better and nicer jobs then stocking shelves, I just had less people to hang with and I blamed myself. I was alone for a while. A long while. Virtually Isolated has a meaning, sometimes.

Went to Castlefest again this year! The weather was supposed to be a little rough and it was, but I got very lucky with hiding away from the rain a whole bunch!

I didn't have super specific things I wanted to do on the Saturday. I mostly wanted to wander about, look at cool & cute peeps and hang with my friends.

On the Sunday I went with a sibling who had never been to Castlefest. They were constantly just going "Oooh, so cool!" while passing people in costume and they got a lot of little smiles and giggles for the quick compliments. They had gone to festivals before and were so amazed at how amazingly accesable it all was. They mentioned seeing plates being put down on the grass as soon as it even looked like it could be a problem for people in wheelchairs and other mobillity aids. I told them I've always known it as the most chillest festival I have ever been to. I told them I refer to the whole festival as "the village". How everyone is willing to look out for eachother and I have personally never had to worry about stealing and such.

They wanna go again next year. We'll see how we do!

I got the cat babies a big rat to play with, but I've started to pity the little thing and regret not just putting this on the shelf.

I get what they're doing, the people I follow and like have bills to pay, too. But it just irks me that the cheap vids are always there, but actual life update ones are for paid followers only.

It's such a disconnect to just watch a few little goofy vids and finding out half a year later "Oh yeah, I'm also massively depressed and thinking about deleting the whole channel and dismantling every community I have on all the platforms I roam, I've only been talking about this in these locked videos by the way, By the time this goes up half the channel will be deleted."

At the very least, I suppose YT's system is a little better nowadays with so many people switching to stream there, doing fundraiser live vids and these memberships for single channels.
I used to throw on Let's Plays by various channels as podcasts, just to get them some adsense and that was the best you had next to directly donating.

My bike was trashed after the accident so I'm using an absolute wreck of a replacement. I need to tune it a little more.

Because I suppose it is Summer Vacation (for everyone else), I should do more nice things outside. I found a sunny afternoon with a short shift to take the long, long, long way home from work. I do have Castlefest coming up soon though! Can ya believe it's already almost been a year?

I've thought about Winter and Summer themes before, started by trying out a Win98 theme for the site!

I've been thinking. People have a media blog, but I was thinking about doing something like that with all the artists I follow. It's gonna be a lot. I follow like 800-ish people on my most used platforms. I'll have to make the decision whether or not I still wanna mention certain people who went off the deep end.

I went to the physician today for a quick checkup on my arm.
I told them at the end I wanted to start HRT. The doc was a little taken aback, but gave me room to schedule an appointment to just talk about things.
My problem was that I had not gone to the physician for ages. So long that I had technically switched GP's twice without ever meeting them.
My old doc scaled down their hours until they retired and gave all the patients to other places.

Now that I've jumped that first (and mostly emotional) hurdle, I have to prepare to fight to get on a 3 year waiting list. Small steps I suppose.

On the way home from work I hit a patch of cratery, crappy asphalt and lost my grip. I ended up busting open my elbow, bit of my side and barely kept my knee from being shredded open. They were building, prepping and holding the Natotop in the city, so for the past weeks everything was a mess. Everything blocked off, most construction or road work had to be postponed for the event. Police everywhere constantly holding up traffic coming from the highway to get 1 car through. Tons of those Sting Ray vans and bugged cell phone/5g towers being set up everywhere.

I took a little break from work as this all raged through the city. We're in a weird little heat wave again and I had helicopters fly over the house every 15 minutes for weeks.

I had messed around with my OS's before and their visual styles. I used to love getting those replacement loading screens for old Windows XP and going past some of those fun "Hack Windows" sites that had tons of fun software. Stuff to change the colour schemes to just the right tint of blue I wanted or ""cool"" widgets for my desktop like weather and a mini RSS feed.

I have always been in touch with my nostalgia and engage with it on a regular basis. Going back every so often helps keep the rose-tinted glasses from slipping on. We can look back fondly to like 2000, but never forget that plenty of stuff was garbage from day 1.

So, for the summer I've XP'ified my main PC for funsies. It's just a very simple combination of WinAeroTweaker and Open Shell. I've mostly had to get used to slapping shortcuts back on the desktop. I stopped doing that when I could pin my 6 most used programs to the taskbar and just Windows Key + name of what I need for the rest.

But, there is some joy in having the old 2 column start menu back. One of the best things to me is that using the search box limits you to your own PC. Instead of Win10 and the rest instantly just trying to google for the file you just have right there, it'll just do the common sense thing and show me that file.
XP may have had it's problems, but I've always found it very user friendly in it's more mundane operations.

I went to Comic Con this weekend for a day! I got up early and decided to make it a full day out. Left the babies some extra water for the day and Little Wing saw me off.


After an hour and a half of just reading my little Punk Stories book on the trams and trains, I got to the city!

I didn't know where to go besides a rough route from a Map app, but I figured there were signs and cosplayers to follow! I already caught some Goth-sune Miku's here & there and it just turned what could have been a long, confusing trek into a quaint walk in the sun while checking out fun & cool cosplays!

I didn't really take pics with people because it was a little busy and I didn't wanna bother others too much. I saw so many fun Miku's, I saw a lot of Star Wars troopers, a herd of cute furries and so many intricate Baldurs Gate cosplays and such!



The main entry hall has some fun stands but the main first hall was a little corporate. Some "Test out our high spec gaming solutions!" booths that are just running like Minecraft or Fall Guys. Some TV station doing quizzes for branded goodie bags, you get the vibe. There were long lines for meet & greets, but I didn't have any one in particular I wanted to say something to, I did walk by the sides and saw Charles Martinet glance past me with a little side smile. Good enough for me! He looked good!



After a quick soda I wandered into the larger dealer dens and just walked around for ages, looking at all the fun stuff! I saw a place that was selling Gengar plushies, but I was never able to find it again. I went past a little Dutch Fur Community booth and looked for a bit. I caught bits and pieces of the Song Contest and other performances. Saw Dead Pool breaking it down sexy style.

I also encountered the dakimura pillar of worship. It greeted you as soon as you walked into 1 of the large dealer halls.



I loved watching people line up for a little corner of arcade machines which ran a whole slew of different games! Shooters, Mario Kart, Capcom VS Marvel, Mortal Kombat, Dokepon and I also saw some one playing the Sailor Moon fighting game!

I also saw cute robots!



I didn't stay till it closed for the day. I wandered out a bit after 6 to get dinner and get a good enough line back home.




In the end the trip cost more then the haul I got. I got myself the 2 plushies and the Star Trek Fan club thing for a friend. I'm sure he could appreciate the vibe. Some one also gave me an issue of Donald Duck. I did used to read it ages ago! He was going to sell me a years worth but I had to be like "I don't see myself reading this anymore." Still got the issue though.

I got one of those rodent plushies they sell at gas stations here from some one. I gave him some piercing's to start and zip tied him to my work bag.

I thought about grabbing Silver's/Crystal's OG release date in 99'. But if I wanna be legit about it, I gotta do 2001. It also lets me make a horrible joke.



So, this is what the little pokemon shrine is supposed to look like. But because I'm very good at shit the fonts don't actually work. They never do. I've followed all the first fistfulls of search engine pages and nothing ever works.

Killing 4chan does nothing, I'm guessing most people don't know there are thousands upon thousands of imageboards. 7chan, 420chan and so on. I was on a local one for a while called Sovjet-Nederland which got hailed by law enforcement over bomb threats back in like 2009.

While I'm happy the main hub is out of the picture, 4chan has already done it's damage, it already wormed it's ideas on the mainstream and had converted like every one on facebook last decade. There are people who don't even know that 4chan is more just the /b/ board who regurgitate the horrible lingo. The horrible worldviews on trans people has permeated on imageboards and now we have world leaders vomiting up rhetoric written by a boomer and instilled on a teenager.

It's just weird to say that all this casual phobia that has entered the mainstream was by large part by 4channers and that does make it a dangerous place, but then again, it was a circle jerking forum where mostly edgy racists would meet and try to teach their shit ways to the kids that wandered in. It's both sad and terrible at the same time.

I dunno, sometimes it's like I've seen too much dumb shit and have been alive too long already. I've seen so much contradictory shit that people have just forgotten about over the years.

(reddit is the same as 4chan to me honestly. I mean, I was there when they got mad that no one credited their rage comics so they made their own imageboards with profiles and awards for being le epic funnie. Redditors are just 4channers that try to win awards.)

Went past the boulevard, some shops and a thrift store today after groceries!
Ages and ages ago I would go to Sea Life and for the heck of it I went again!

I have a hidden page on Virtually Isolated that you can reach via the trans pride blinkie, but it mostly talks about how I was barred from experiencing or even enjoying this side of me for decades. Virtually Isolated is also a resource and tool hub first. Ya know, like we used to do to our little Angelfire sites.

I'd like to have a little place to put dumb selfies, well, the dumber ones with my face. I'm still lovingly self conscious about all of it. I removed most of the pics with my face in them from the site as I started putting more stickers with the QR code around. Also, shaving every 2/3 days for the past year and a half is being murder on my skin and leaves me with a vague 5 Am shadow and dark blotches like an hour after. This is also the kinda shit I wanna talk about.

I really don't want one of my shitty trans&homophobic coworkers to scan a sticker they normally don't care about and instantly look at me.

I dunno, trying to get something for DeadWeb, a side site where I was gonna talk about tech and such when I was growing up is hard, too. I sit down and I just can't think of anything interesting to put up. I might kill that sub site after all and keep a shabby past version somewhere in the Misc section.

It's also kinda ruining the enjoyment of running the neocities site for some reason. I open up my little Dreamweaver program and I just feel the ideas leave my head as I open the pages.

Part of me just wants a little mini site to blog stupid stuff and post dumb pics like I would on Vampirefreaks or Livejournal, but those days are gone and have been replaced by twitter, insta and facebook.

And I really don't want to be on a big platform with reactionary assholes and people who will go out of their way to say heinous shit about my transess. I've already met enough dumbshits on twitter and reddit and all that.

Went to Filthy Folk Fest! A little fun night organized by some people I know in the western/country scene here. Fun bands, got to try the Sunfire themed-and-brewed beer finally!



Also hung around with some friends and met some people I've been in voice chats with for a while! I polluted the area with my daft little stickers again!

I went to a local museum today! Just for fun by myself really.
There was a themed exhibit about sustainable living and environmentalism that had some fun interactive elements.


I also bought this scruffy, made of recycled materials fluffer! Jo and me named him Jerry and decided he's a metalhead! I also gave him a cool collar with skulls!

I was posted at a job site kinda close to the place a few weeks back and I thought about going for an afternoon. I used to go there with school and mom & pop a lifetime ago.

There was a themed exhibit about environmentalism and keeping the planet sustainable. It was a little less aggressive towards companies and industries ruining things for just everyday people, but it was sorta aimed at kids, so I get it.

There was also a mini tank of scared fish, used to display a small part of submerged flora and fauna. Poor babies.

There was also a small sideroom with the theme "Children in War".
As a Berlin Wall kid, this kinda stuff is important to me.

In the room there were also small cabinets with "sensitive" stuff in them. The rise of Hitler, the forming of the NSB (National Socialist Bond: Just the nazi party but Dutch pretty much. Responsible for pretty much every single person in the country who got taken to the deathcamps.) in the Netherlands and the death camps.

I was a little dismayed that there were no mention of the pink or black triangles. When these things already show letters between the Nazi's and the Dutch NSB party where they discuss laws to instantly send any vaguely Jewish person to the camps, it doesn't seem like mentioning a little blurb about who they thought was deathcamp worthy is too grim.

There was a fun side room with nature photography that was entered into a national contest. It was a short visit but it was nice. I had fun today! Now to think about the next thing I feel like doing for my silly mental health.

I did go to see my friends in another one of their theatre productions in the evening! It was a fun and cute story based on Guards Guards from Terry Pratchett!



I always try to go to the first show and sometimes that leaves me going solo. I still get lost getting to the theatre from the station and vice versa.

Making the top right box a little tighter and dropped the "Cringe is Dead" and the "Best Buds" page for now. Gonna find a better way to showcase my friends and their art. Thinking about just adding a separate page for that in one of the side bars.

Speaking of the sidebars! I'm still thinking about splitting it. All general info and tools on the left, personal blog and my own projects on the right. I do wanna put at least 2 of my socials on there; Tumblr and Bluesky. I tend to be most active on those.

The problem I run into is that I don't have much to offer visitors. My Tools and Tabletop are small lists without much flair. Only putting Home and the 2 info pages really throws the visual balance off.

For some reason I won't just allow myself to have a self indulgent site, it somehow has to offer something to my visitors beyond "woag, very late 90's".

While I know the peeps infront of the Honey Bee are just horndogs, they don't treat you like a freak. I mean, some of the Honey Bee girls do, but I feel that's there to showcase how adult entertainers or sex workers are a vulnerable group that gets targeted a lot and viciously.

I dunno, I see the problems very clearly. But I tend to think of the little positives first before the rest when recalling this.

Also, some of the lines are gold and ring a little comically true to me.

I appreciate people having a look at my little trash collection of a website, but sometimes I just shoot up to like 400 visits in a day for a week. I always take off like 20% or 30% of the views and visits in case of bots, but I still have no idea where my audience even comes from.

I don't really advertise, it's in my bio on a few sites and I slap stickers around every so often. But somehow people find it. I'm miles away from the frontpage because that (I think) requires like 1 millions visits and 500/700 followers at the very least. I don't top the search results when you look for tabletop, retro and software junk.

Like, where do those 800 visits on Dec 29 come from? Is it all bots? I don't even know. I don't have a lot of interaction with my 'crowd'. I tried putting a little chatbox on there last year and that ended up shitty in the first day.
