The LEGO JRPG!
I found my first big OC junk!

The LEGO JRPG

Ages ago, I had a whole bunch of LEGO and would sometimes get knights, dragons and skeletons. I was watching movies and shows, looking for Fantasy stuff, but never finding the things I wanted. I had played some JRPG's on the SNES at this point and started to make my own little universe. It was this massively cliched thing that I loved. Filled to the brim with stolen and unoriginal names, ever expanding into space and time until I moved on.

The LEGO JRPG starts with abstracted versions of Padme and Anakin figures. I build a shack and imagined it being at the edge of a wooded area, a bigger village maybe beyond. One day, a man visits and leaves after exchanging brief words with the mother figure. The man is dressed in armor, a cape, sword and shield. A black but gold trimed underarmor with symbols and gylphs beyond comprehension. He leaves and time passes.

Later, a man in a red variant of what the last visitor wore visits. With no words he destroys the house and leaves. It crashes on the mother as the child hides. He approaches her in her last moment and griefs. He searches the ruins and takes a weapon with him. A scythe. The child runs. His name is Mushra.

He ends up in the nearby village and tries to explain. He is interuppted by a winged beast landing from the skies. The beast breathes fire and starts to summon more of itself. the child, Mushra, finds a friend of his, Dyn. Armed with a lance, Dyn attempts to fight off the monsters.

The 2 fight for dear life but in the end, cannot stop the assault against their home. They are forced to run with the flames at their back.

Title drop, if it had one

The LEGO JRPG never really had a name and I never went back to try and rename everything in the universe. I started when I was like 7 and put the last piece away when I was maybe 13. I had thought about it from time to time, but mostly in a quick fond way and part of my roots for enjoying JRPG styled stuff.

I would also start drawing stuff with these characters. I would have a notepad at school with 6-panel, wordless comics. Most would be spell animations, fights between big characters and trying to paint emotional scenes with pencil & 0 skills. At some point I start really playing FF6 and it flows right into the LEGO JRPG. You'll feel it when it happens. Anyway, on with the show!
